South Africa’s Youth for a United World organise the third edition of their Youth Camp
The Youth for a United World of South Africa recently concluded their Youth Camp, which they describe as, “three days of active love, growing unity, fruitful discussion and an engulfing spirituality.”
Held from 6 to 9 July at Western Cape, the camp witnessed the participation of 43 youth, who experimented a life based on the art of loving through song, games and moments of prayer. They performed concrete acts of love for each other and engaged in activities in favour of the environment which included a clean-up drive in the town of Warrenton.
Workshops and talks conducted by members of the Focolare Movement covered in depth the importance of community, harmony and awareness, the acceptance of suffering and the need to overcome differences, including racial differences.
Many participants, who met the Youth for a United World for the first time, expressed their desire to stay connected with Movement. Together they discovered that change begins with each one of us; that to change the world we need to change our hearts. This belief served as the main theme of the camp, which they have concluded with the prayer that their unity may strengthen and translate into their individual lives, so that they may build a United World starting with their small communities. As they work to sow the seeds of the Ideal of Unity, they also keep in their hearts our upcoming Genfest 2018.
