Youth for a United World
We are the “Youth for a United World (Y4UW)" Movement founded by Chiara Lubich in 1985. It is part of the wide ranging Focolare Movement. Our age varies between 17 to 30 years and we come from different walks of life. We are youth from all over the world and we belong to different ethnic groups, nationalities and cultures.
Many of us profess different creeds, whilst some of us don’t have a religious belief.
We all share a common commitment to devote ourselves, both personally and collectively, to a great ideal:
- universal brotherhood
- to build a united world
- to make humanity more and more one big family where the identity of each person is respected
The Y4UW International Centre
The International Centre is at the service of the Youth for a United World spread over the five continents.
It is made up of a group of Y4UW assisted by some adults.
The life of the Y4UW converges to this international centre which in turn promotes and sustains a network of local centres present in every corner of the world.
The international centre safeguards the rich heritage of the Youth for a United World and promotes its principles through numerous initiatives and worldwide events.
